Who Are BVG and Why Host With Them?

BVG is comprised of several interacting companies uniting to provide a vast range of services and products. While we love our customers despite nationality, these companies were founded to bring down the price of Internet Services and Products to the Bahamian population. We are also a provider for the US with a base in Connecticut - offering folks services from Connecticut Web Design.

In 1996 we realized that Bahamian citizens were paying as much as 10 times the price of any type of Internet service or advertising. There were monopolies on most every aspect of the industry and where there was competition, there was unified higher pricing than one would expect to pay elsewhere in the world.

BVG emerged into the market, quite frankly by accident, creating what is one of toady's (and has been for a number of years) leading Bahamas tourism guides. The concept was as simple then as it is today - operate the enterprise more so as a cooperative than as a commercial business. Bring down the price and make the offerings robust. Thus commenced our Bahamas web hosting and Bahamas ecommerce solutions.

We've had a bit of practice hosting sites, now running two major Bahamas guides and managing over 50 domains for our satisfied clients. We also had our own share of personal aggravation with web hosts/servers. Boy did we ever learn from that. We will no longer put up with the corporate giants who can't see us or our clients when a problem arises. Applying credit doesn't cut it. No one wants to hear an excuse or that *your problem has been sent to Tech2 for probing*. We want satisfaction 100% of the time and being that it is an imperfect world we will settle for 99.9%, as near perfect as one can hope to achieve. Why decide to become a host? It was the logical thing to do.

Moreover, it was chock full of add on products we could offer at great prices, which is important. We were able to put together some really super packages, at extremely affordable hosting rates. We are all sharing in the actual serving expenses, but sharing a little more affordably.

We also operate a Bahamas shopping cart, Bahamas store front and understand the demands and needs associated with account size, bandwidth allotments and other hosting matters. Bahamas Vacation Guide ate through bandwidth allotments and overage fees at our first server making us realize how unreasonably priced their overage fees were. You can bet that our fees are much more reasonable. After adding The Bahamian at the next server, our bandwidth rate suddenly was depleted (their answer to add on fees). We had to double our server and cost! A dramatic increase that would have resulted in higher fees to our customers. Our business experience has helped us reason out plans that can help all levels of Bahamas web marketers (and folks worldwide) reach their goals, without breaking the bank.
